A little bit about our church ………from the Churchwardens Lindsay and Fred.

St. Peter’s church in Hindley, is part of the Church of England in the diocese of Liverpool. The Church of England is the state church of this country which means that the church and the state are linked.

Our worship at St. Peter’s is traditional in that we follow the authorised book of Common Worship with its adaptations. We endeavour to make our services as ‘people friendly’ as possible and everyone is welcome at the altar to receive Holy Communion or a blessing.

We have disabled access and toilet facilities and a baby changing station. A hearing loop system is installed and our kitchen is fully functional for providing meals and snacks. Hot drinks may be made at any time.

Children are very welcome in church and the pre-schoolers will be given a bag containing books and crayons to help them through the service. There is also a large stock of toys in the meeting room if they get restless.

Parking is ‘on street’ around the back of the church and the Clinic car park, which is just along Liverpool Road, is also available for parking on a Sunday.

Our congregations are of mixed age and sex and have a great sense of humour. We are all still learning about the Christian faith.

We try very hard to be a Family Church and you are welcome to join us.

Dear God,
This church is a family.
Help us to learn together
To worship together
To share together
To play together
To pray together
To come together
And to reach out to everyone with family love!
